Barbatos 1 Posted October 3, 2018 (edited) Overview: Royal Guards (also known as RG) is the 3rd job variant of the Crusader. They are a very versatile class, excelling as an Off-Tank due to their high MaxHP modifier, and a wide range of defensive and offensive skills both in PvM and PvP. They also have supportive capabilities which are unique to their class. As a Swordsman-based class, they are moderately easy to level due to their naturally high HP pool and strong offensive skills even in the early game. This guide will only cover the PvM aspect of the game. Stats: STR is an essential stat for an RG to boost their Attack Power. Having high STR not only allows them to deal a good amount of damage through their offensive skills, such as Overbrand and Banishing Point; but it also provides a higher weight limit which helps them carry extra potions for survivability. AGI is a semi-optional stat for RGs. Tank-builds benefit from the Flee that AGI provides, but due to the fact that Flee penalty is applied when taking on several mobs at once, Flee is somewhat irrelevant. Damage-oriented builds may benefit from the ASPD bonus, but it is considerably difficult to reach very high ASPD on an RG without sacrificing too much of the other stats. VIT is the most essential stat for an RG. It increases MaxHP and the recovery rate of healing items. It also provides SoftDEF that can decrease incoming damage by a flat amount as well as resistance against Stun and other status effects. INT is an important stat which helps an RG by increasing MaxSP, seeing how RGs have a relatively low SP pool while their offensive skills are somewhat SP-costly. The increased MaxSP also helps for the SP upkeep of skills like Reflect Damage and Force of Vanguard. Additionally, INT provides a bit of MDEF which helps at reducing magical damage. DEX is another essential stat for any RG who intend to use offensive skills. It adds HIT which allows the RG's attacks to connect with enemies. LUK is another semi-optional stat for RGs. They can provide Perfect Dodge and Resistance against several Status Effects which helps with survivability, but in most cases it isn't needed. Middle Headgear Item ID 18823: IMPERIAL FEATHER ASPD + 1%. Resistance to Wind property attacks + 5%. When having more than 108 base AGI, increase ASPD +1, ASPD +1%. When wearing with Imperial Spear, Imperial Guard, +20% ATK when using skills Cannon Spear, Shield Press and Banishing Point. Lower Headgear Item ID 19246: NECKLACE OF KNIGHT'S PROTECTION Attack + 40, Aspd + 3%, Reduces damage taken from Players by 2%. Immunity to Blind and Silence statuses When base AGI is 108 or higher, Attack + 60, Aspd + 5%, Reduces damage taken from Players by 2%. When base AGI is 120 or higher, Attack + 80, Aspd + 7%, Reduces damage taken from Players by 4%. Armour Item ID 15147: Abusive Robe Enable use of Level 1 Improve Concentration. Every 1 refine, ignore 4% physical defense of Demi-human, Demon and undead monster. Cheap Farming option Item ID 15145: EVIL DRAGON ARMOR Weapon Item ID 1433: Imperial Spear MATK + 40 Increases damage of Cannon Spear and Vanishing Point by 20%. Every 2 refine increases the damage by an additional 3%. + Imperial Guard Increases damage of Grand Cross and Ray of Genesis by 10%. Shield Item ID 2153: Imperial Guard MDEF + 5. Increases Shield Press damage by 20%. Each refine above +6 increases the skill attack power by an additional 2%.
