Yikes. Looks like u lack of understanding about market price and stability stuff can make RO fun too.

    Go on then.

Ah yes, go right to my understanding of the market. I am TOTALLY NOT one of those billionaire zeny hoarders on the server who makes a ridiculous amount of more zeny just buying things lower and then selling them way higher when the time is just right. /s

Please do explain to me how the % drop rate of this one particular item is going to have any notable effect on the market.

    • Does the price of the Hero Enchant Ticket drop? Sure, probably. Is it going to tank the value? No lol. You could double the drop rate and it wouldn't cut the value is half. If you think that's the outcome you've never taken a probability and statistics class.
    • Does anyone actually think that farming Hero Enchant Tickets is an efficient method for making zeny? I doubt it, you'd be ignoring Sarah's/HTF rotations which is guaranteed zeny.
    • Do people find farming this particular item fun? Yeah probably a minority group, still has no impact on the market lol.

I'm starting to assume you think that some sort of trend is going to happen if we go this route. We're talking about one specific change, don't get all scared that we're going to voice our thoughts on every item in existence.

The market argument is mute and anyone that thinks the Hero Enchant Ticket is a large portion of the market refuses to even entertain any thought except their own.

New classes are coming with the role of giving AP to party members achieving certain buffs wouldn't be a problem, this change would only discouraged the participance of those other jobs on the team play and heavily focus on DPS.

Not only that would allow for everyone to just go back to Dummies and rebuff theirselves with no consequences afterwards.

Honestly, that's just more boring and unecessary work for Lunar.

I will preface this with, I agree this sounds like unnecessary work for Lunar. This particular issue is annoying at worst.

I think this is an overemphasis on the impact of this change should it happen. Parties are still going to be class locked, people are still going to ask for AP. Building 150 AP doesn't happen as fast as the party moves, there's always going to be a need for AP giving classes if parties want to prioritize uptime on crucial skills.

There's already a heavy focus on DPS, that's never going to change. The party lock system was effort to combat that meta but the playerbase still does it. That's a community/meta issue that stems from turd design philosophy from RO. That's never going to be fixed unless we're willing to change RO at the core and that's probably never happening.

Hero LT is a endstage gear, so it would be better not to increase ticket drop rate.

No one force u to choose hero LT.

If we increase ticket drop rate, how about increase chance to get armor reform LT and reduce the cost of weapon reform LT so all new player can get endstage gear hero LT like u??

You're making an irrelevant comparison which derails the point of the topic. Just because people want to raise the % drop rate of one item doesn't mean that everything else needs to be raised or that they want everything else raised too.

How does choosing an item have anything to do with having an opinion or suggestion for that item? Your argument there is that because we aren't forced to do it that he doesn't get to have a suggestion/opinion on the matter? Yikes, that's almost similar to saying you aren't forced to play RO so just leave if you don't like it.

Hero LT is a end-stage gear already gated behind custom content and then we gate other parts of its upgrade process behind more custom content. It is redundant and boring.

To get the armor modification boots, you have to get a somewhat competent group of people together and then farm fortessa content for a slim chance at the box. Then you have to spend like 1 billion zeny in value to upgrade it and grade it.

    • Armor Mod Box = RNG drop, tough custom content
    • Upgrading, Grading = 1b Zeny (a lot of farming, if unlucky, even more)
    • Farming enchant ticket at 0.05% and 0.25%  rates in an instance that you maybe run 3~5 times a day.
      • (Better than MVP card rates but let's not confuse the value to the player between MVP cards and the enchant ticket LMAO)
    • Whatever the % chance of getting the mods you need on top of that.

Is this actually fun for you guys? Is anyone on this server confident enough to think the majority of the population actually thinks this is fun to do? Like actually ask the 100s of players here their on SMRO their opinion.

I agree with the suggestion it should be improved, I don't know what the numbers should be but it should be improved. It's just not fun looking at our current numbers. Not every little thing has to be a monotonous grind.

IMHO, it should be about fun.

  4. 5/19/2020: No more hiatus but big overhaul to this guide. It's a bit too much work and don't feel like dropping the zeny to test out progression at different levels.

    1 Prologue

You might be asking, "Why Ranger?" Let me tell you what Rangers are still good at. Rangers are the absolute king of being brain dead. I can't fathom how anyone could fuck this up.

No more talking about Sharp Shooting, only AIMED BOLT BABY.

I am also very conservative on how I play. I do NOT min max if it hurts quality of life gameplay.

TL;DR Is Aimed Bolt worth all the trouble in the current 17.2 Meta? Probably not, especially if you don't commit to endgame. I would say it is A rank along with Sura for Long Range DPS. With SS being GX and S being RK.

    2 IMPORTANT NOTES FOR ENDGAMES

    • This build is really meh until you can use the Ranger 2 Garment Costume stone (30% dmg) or grind the Automatic A Armour with Aimed Modules because Aimed Bolt has a dumb 1 second Fixed Cast Time.
    • Note: Automatic Armour with Aimed Modules gives a shit ton of damage to Aimed Bolt so it feels really good. Bless 17.2
      • Ignis Cap + Illusion Boots with FCT Stone + Foxtail (OK)
      • Ignis Cap + Automatic Illusion Boot with FCT Stone (BETTER)
      • FFH(+14) + Temp Dex  + Foxtail (Really Good, this is what I am using because FUCK RNG)
      • FFH(+15) + Temp Dex (Best)
      • If you aren't using foxtail, then use Spiked Scarf in its place UNLESS you really need the 1 ASPD from Delicious Lolipop

    • Patent Scarlet Dragon Leather Bow VS Edda Bio Lab Aiming Bow with EA3 and Enchant both +12.
      • I haven't gotten to testing it just yet.
      • I would actually say that Aiming Bow is better if you want to hit your After Cast Delay easier.
      • Patent Scarlet Dragon leather Bow is probably way better with 20 w/e race/type you want to kill /20 Boss enchant and is cheaper honestly.

    • PING = sub 50 ms? NO? OK your ASPD stays at 191~193 and your After Cast Delay (ACD) stays at 80%
      • I promise you won't feel a difference because your ping and my ping BLOW, but if you really want to then yes 193 ASPD and 86% ACD will do higher DPS over time.
        • KEY WORDs: "over time" You name something that last more than a few seconds on Ragnarok LMAO. Pop your UNLIMINT and tell that MVP/Hell Difficulty to go suck one.
      • I promise no content on SMRO needs/require you to min-max your ACD

    • RIGHT NOW? PROs/CONs
      • Yeah we're cheaper than RK and GX.
      • Yeah it's actually pretty easy to get into parties. You carry at MVP instances if everyone is being lazy, and you pick off griefs/offscreen stuff that might pester your party in Fortessa Pit.
      • Yeah, you can farm in Fortessa Dungeon solo. You pretty much max screen range anything.
      • No, you do not live. Keep your distance, you will get one shot. Squishiest piece of crap in the game to be honest.
      • No, you don't handle swarms of mobs, this isn't sharp shooting.

        • Grace Aimed Suit
        • 1 Grace Refine Ticket
      • Bow Choices
        • Scarlet Leather Bow + 12 (You need the refine to reduce the 1 second CD on Aimed Bolt, DONT PROCEED UNTIL YOU HAVE THIS DAMN BOW)

    • Mid Game : Level 175+ Aimed Bolt (Estimated 500M Zeny Cost)
      • At this point work on getting these gears.
        • Illusion Booster L and Illusion Booster R (@go Exchange Illusion OS NPC)
          • Enchant BOTH with Attack Speed and Expert Archer
          • (@ws 25681) (@ws 25683)
        • Illusion Armor A + 12
          • 2x Power Enchant (@ws 25687), 1x After Cast Delay Enchant (15% ACD) (@ws 25693)
        • Illusion Leg A + 9
          • Enchant with FCT and Firing Shot
          • (@ws 25702) (@ws 25694)
        • Temporal STR Mant +12
          • 15% ACD Enchant
        • Ignis Hat + 12 (Instance Point NPC)
        • Sunwave Glasses (10% ACD)
        • Reload Shadow Armour +9 (3% ACD)
        • Ranger Shadow Shield + 9
        • Reload Shadow Shoes +9 (3%ACD)
        • Scarlet Dragon Leather Bow + 12 (16% ACD)
        • Aimed Shadow Set +9
        • Ranger Shadow Shield +9
        • Ranger 2 Costume Stone + Ranger 2 Upper Lower Mid Costume Stones
      • CARDS
        • ACCESSORY
          • Faceworm + Dark Face Worm Card (6% ACD)
        • WEAPON
          • Resentful Archer Skeleton (Cheap all content option, if you're hurting on Zeny)
          • 2x Abysmal Knight (Cheap option for all content that is bossing, I would prioritize this because you'll be farming Fortessa Dungeon 1)
          • Santa Poring + Black Acidus for Fortessa Pit 1 Parties
          • 2x Contaminated Wanderer for general MVPing
        • HEADGEAR
          • Purple Ferus in +12 HG
          • Furious Hero in Sunwave Glasses

Sadly, you only end up with 68% ACD. It's really tough fitting in enough ACD without Kiel. You'll honestly get by just fine but your DPS over time will blow compared to getting around 80% ACD.

If you opt for Reload Shield +9, you'll lose the defense piercing but have around 77~80 ACD.

You should be all set to farm Fortessa Dungeon 1 without too much trouble solo.

You're farming for Shadow Enchant Boxes and Ancient Hero Gear to exchange to Greater Hero Enchants.

    4 Getting to Endgame

    Spoiler

    Priority 1:

You NEED to farm 900x Varmeal Tickets from the 17.2 Instances/Daily Quests to get Automatic Armor A. Then you NEED 2x Aimed Modules and 1x After Cast Delay Module.

This is a huge grind or a huge zeny sink as of May 2020. Please ask here or ask on discord on how to efficiently grind this out.

    Priority 2:

Get 5% Long Range Damage on ALL ENCHANT-ABLE Shadow Accessories. No Joke this is a ridiculous DPS increase.

    Priority 3:

At this point, I need to start discussing the 1 second fixed cast time of Aimed Bolt. So far you've been using

Ignis Cap +12 and Illusion Leg A with a FCT stone. At some point you need to push towards getting a Fancy feather hat to at least +14 so that you can wear,

Temporal Dex Boots (Bear Power or the Hawk Eye, whatever you prefer) + King Schmidt's (ATK or Long Range Dmg) Insignia (Strong Enchant/Thousand Bow Enchant).

    • The LR% Dmg Insignia is a little better and the Thousand Bow Enchant is higher DPS if the proc goes off.

I currently use Fancy Feather Hat + 14, Foxtail, and Temporal Dex Boots to reduce by Fixed Cast time by 1 second.

    Priority 4:

Automatic Accessory L. 1500 Tickets, I haven't done this yet. I see about a 10% increase to our damage.

    Once you have all this.

You should expect to hit around 400~450k per line on dummies with Aimed Bolt. Your ACD will sit around ~70% without Reload Shield or ~80 with reload shield.

  5. I think we can all admit that you can't just throw a random group of people together and do this content without going through a frustrating experience. I don't think it's particularly difficult thing to do either, it's just kind of "annoying content".

I hate to say it but I think we should take notes from typical MMORPGS today. Consistent mechanics that are telegraphed well. RO just isn't responsive enough of a game to have split second reactions that completely destroy the party, it just simply does not handle input fast enough for that. I can't think of a major MMORPG today that punishes that much without a proper telegraph.

W/e you do, I think it will be a good next step.

smells like NovaRO bait; from the name, to the overly specific and meaningless +15 argument, to not understanding why +7 could matter, to... I could go on for ever.

Where are my manners... What I meant to say was:

    - Yes, retroactively making things harder is unfair. Just like 12 people making bank (even if just perceived and not backed up by any facts) while the rest of the server doesn't is unfair. Just like hyper inflation is stupid. Sometimes there is no pretty solution. And in my personal opinion Lunar picked the least bad solution. I would invite you to make a constructive suggestion.

    - Agree, a minority speaking for the majority is problematic (as proven by nova lul). That's the point of the thread.

    - I like how you seem to want to encourage different oppinions being voiced, only to shit on oppinions you don't agree with.

Right lump in there with the guy that imposes an artificial difficulty to the game just to milk his playerbase for more money.

Look, if OP wants the game to be more difficult, to put in more walls, all for  the sake of a longer lasting progression or challenge that's on him. I don't want that difficulty imposed on me end of the story. I wholeheartedly suggest that maybe as player that maybe OP should stop playing it the easy way.

Stop buying stuff off the market. Stop using the freebies we get from the server. Don't hard farm zeny at Thana 9 when it wasn't suppose to function like that (yay yay it got removed). Pick and choose, because if the game is easy its probably the way your going about it. These are just examples. Players don't have to do this but then they do and some how we end up in a discussion about taking things away or making things less available.

I'm not here to impose that easy stuff on players, the players have a choice to use that or not. However, when we start removing features, we start getting rid of this or that because it's too easy, or blah blah blah. In the latter, I barely get a choice when we do the latter, shits just gone. There's always this culture with nerfing I see in threads like this and it just isn't even good anymore.

Also I think Lunar is doing great and his pacing is fine. If people think shits happenings too fast, I advised taking the game a little slower for once.

  7. I'm going to throw this out there.

I don't want a server that retroactively makes things harder on their players, it's unfair as fuck. Might as well just hop onto the bigger servers if that happens because what would be the difference. We need actual statistics on how many people can accomplish the content in 1-2 days. If it's a minority I'm not sure I see the problem, it's an even bigger problem if the minority speaks for the majority.

Also what's this BS about 100% certs. I don't care if it only cost you a million zeny to +7, +7 is useless. Tell me how much zeny you sink going to +15 AND if you don't attempt to go that far then your opinion on the matter is weak.
