  1. High Resolution on SMRO Guide (dgvoodoo)

Hope you're safe. Shoot me a PM if you need more help, I'd be happy to troubleshoot with you.
  2. High Resolution on SMRO Guide (dgvoodoo)

EDIT: Tested different version, found 2.62 works and enables 2048 MB VRAM for smoother game. Hi all, just wanted to post a quick guide on how to get dgvoodoo to work on SMRO with Gepard Shield. I'm sure some of you have used the methods on the Wiki but to no avail, attempted dgvoodoo hook but got the good ole' Gepard Shield auto-delete or fail to launch. Currently, the license SMRO holds for Gepard Shield blocks most DirectX wrappers with the exception of DirectX8 (and presumably lower). Long story short, you can run dgvoodoo version 2.55 to 2.62 without Gepard Shield issues. I've tested this with my current resolution of 2560x1440p and have executed it up to 3840x2160 (4k). *1. Set dinput.ini (should be default values) - WindowLock =0 - WindowPosX =0 - WindowPosY =0 - WindowWidth =0 - WindowHeight =0 - NOTE: Manually setting your monitors resolution will yield better results. See astriks footnote below. 2. Find/download dgvoodoo version 2.55.3 through 2.62 (crucial) - These versions are whitelisted for the Gepard Shield license that SMRO utilizes. Wraps in DX8 so probably doesn't even detect it. 3. Copy files from dgvoodoo 2.55.3/2.62 to SMRO root folder: - dgVoodooCpl.exe - dgVoodoo.conf - MS folder > D3D8.dll, D3Dlmm.dll, DDraw.dll 4. Set up dgvoodoo to your preferences - Note: Enable fast video access if you can support it - DirectX > VRAM - 2048 5. Open setup.exe - Graphics Devices: dgVoodoo TnL HAL - Resolution: (Desired Resolution) - OK 6. Locate SMRO folder > Right Click "Shining.exe" > Compatibility > Change DPI Settings > System (Enhanced) 7. Run SMRO You should now pass Gepard Shield verification and start RO in native resolution! Note: Press ALT + Enter if windowed to fullscreen. *Alternate Step 1: You may see distortion in some "horizontal bands" of your game. I've found that by setting your screen resolution in "dinput.ini" manually in WindowsWidth/WindowsHeighth it eliminates this entirely.

Can you post a screenshot? Are you running in full screen (alt+enter)?
