Cart Cannon Genetic Guide *UPDATE JAN 26,2021*

While genetic cannot be considered meta after the recent patch, it is without a doubt powerful. After the recent "Class Update" patch, although it still cannot be spammed, Cart Cannon is now a strong AoE skill that can reach high numbers with the right equips and the right investments. 

Please keep in mind that even with so much investment in this class, my damage output doesn't compare to GX and RK even with just small investments.

 

It has been a while since I originally posted this guide and quite a few things have changed since then. With this update, I hope to provide everyone with what I know that can help you guys build a genetic into a strong class capable of handling any mob/mvp and instances.

While it is still true that genetic's damage is still a far cry from what gx/rk and most recently sorc can do, it's a very good class, enough to make ranger obsolete for pit parties given enough investments. With this in mind, I'll try to guide you through starting equipments upto what would be end-game level setup for the class.


THIS IS A NIFLHEIM GUIDE SO I'LL BE INDICATING SOME NIF SPECIFIC EQUIPMENTS

There has been two major updates to cart cannon's damage formula, let's go over the changes with the skill formula first;

Damage (ATK)Therefore a good amount of int was necessary for the skill to do good damage.

Then it was buffed again which made the skill formula given below

((350 x Cart Cannon skill level) + (int/(6- Cart Remodeling skill level))) x base level/100
It has higher base damage, less reliance on int and it now scales with level. This is a good addition, especially with the new 200/70 max level update.

Finally, It was buffed again for the last time (for now) which made the skill formula look like this

With this new formula, we were given a better multiplier for the Int stat which gives quite a decent boost to the skill's over-all damage

ALSO, SINCE THIS IS FOR NIF. I'LL BE GOING OVER HOW SKILL CRIT IS A GOOD WAY TO INCREASE CC DAMAGE EXPONENTIALLY

Although CC has no official skill crit. Niflheim has a custom function where every skill can crit at .3 of your total crit damage. Although at first, you shouldn't focus on this until you have decent equips, you should keep this in mind when improving your Genetic.


Beginner Equips:

Headgear (UPPER): 

Harvester Hat (https://www.divine-pride.net/database/item/5902
- Gives 100% vct reduction on cart cannon at +0
- Gives +15% CC damage at +9
- Costs only 50 Moon Coins



Ignis Cap (https://www.divine-pride.net/database/item/400022/kRO)
- Atk + 20 per 2 refine rate.
- If refine rate is 7 or higher, reduces variable casting time by 15%.
- If refine rate is 9 or higher, increase long ranged physical damage by 15%.
- If refine rate is 11 or higher, increases physical damage against small and medium size enemies by 15%, reduces fixed casting time by 0.2 seconds.

When equipped with Saphire Mace-OS, Atk + 30,
increases Cart Cannon damage by 4% per 2 refine rate of weapon

 

Amistr Beret (https://www.divine-pride.net/database/item/19308/

- Atk + 10 and Matk + 10 per 2 refine rate.
- If refine rate is 7 or higher, reduce variable casting time by 10%.
- If refine rate is 9 or higher, increase neutral and holy property magic damage by 10%.
- If refine rate is 11 or higher, Matk + 3%, Atk + 5%.
- Each refine rate above 10 will reduce fixed casting time by 0.1 second (up to 15).

When equipped with Twin Edge of Naght Sieger [Blue], increase Cart Cannon damage by 10% every 2 refine rate of Twin Edge of Naght Sieger [Blue].

 

Cylinder Headband NIF ONLY (https://www.divine-pride.net/database/item/19125/cylinder-hairband-1) BEST STARTING HEADGEAR IN MY OPINION

- Reduces the variable casting time of Cart Cannon by 100%.
- Reduces the SP cost of Cart Cannon by 30.
- Reduces the SP cost of Cart Tornado by 5.
- Increases the damage of Cart Cannon by 10%.
- Increases the damage of Cart Tornado by 5%.
If upgrade level is +5 or higher,
- Increases the damage of Cart Cannon by an additional 20%.
- Increases the damage of Cart Tornado by an additional 10%.
If upgrade level is +8 or higher,
- Increases the damage of Cart Cannon by an additional 30%.
- Increases the damage of Cart Tornado by an additional 20%.

 

Middle | Lower:

Crow Tengu Mask/Scroll Combo

- Increases physical damage on Small, Medium and Large size targets by 1%.
- Increases physical damage on Small, Medium and Large size targets by an additional 1%, if the users base Str is 108 or higher.
- Increases physical damage on Small, Medium and Large size targets by an additional 2%, if the users base Str is 120 or higher.
- Increases long-ranged damage on targets by 2%.
- Increases long-ranged damage on targets by an additional 2%, if the users base Str is 108 or higher.
- Increases long-ranged damage on targets by an additional 3%, if the users base Str is 120 or higher.

- Adds a 3% chance of restoring 5% of damage as HP when performing a physical attack.

SET BONUS:
- Increases physical damage on Small, Medium and Large size targets by 1%.
- Increases long-ranged damage on targets by 1%.
- If the users base Str is 108 or higher,
- Increases physical damage on Small, Medium and Large size targets by an additional 2%.
- Increases long-ranged damage on targets by an additional 1%.
- If the users base Str is 120 or higher,
- Increases physical damage on Small, Medium and Large size targets by an additional 3%.
- Increases long-ranged damage on targets by an additional 1%.

 

Seraphim Coronet/Feather Combo (SERAPHIM CORONET IS MY CURRENT MIDDLE HEADGEAR)

Coronet (https://www.divine-pride.net/database/item/19138/)
- For every 8 base Int, Atk + 5
- Increases the recovery rate of recovery skills by 1%.
- Increases the variable casting time of skills by 1%.
If the user's base Int is 108 or higher,
- Additional Atk + 50.
- Increases the recovery rate of recovery skills by an additional 5%.
- Increases the variable casting time of skills by an additional 4%.
If the user's base Int is 120 or higher,
- Additional Atk + 125.
- Increases the recovery rate of recovery skills by an additional 10%.
- Increases the variable casting time of skills by an additional 6%.

Feather (https://www.divine-pride.net/database/item/19327/seraphim-feather)
- Increases the recovery rate of recovery skills by 5%.

SET BONUS: (I DON'T THINK THE COMBO IS GOOD, AND WOULD SUGGEST ONLY THE CORONET)
- Increases the recovery rate of recovery skills and recovery items by 5%.
- Increases the recovery rate of incoming recovery skills by 5%.
- Reduces damage taken from Demi-Human race enemies by 2%.
- Reduces the variable casting time of Coluseo Heal by 100%.
- Immune to Bleed and Chaos.
- Reduces the variable casting time of skills by 1% for every 8 base Int.
If the user's base Int is 108 or higher,
- Reduces the variable casting time of skills by an additional 4%.
- Increases the recovery rate of recovery skills and recovery items by an additional 10%.
- Increases the recovery rate of incoming recovery skills by an additional 10%.
- Reduces damage taken from Demi-Human race enemies by an additional 2%.
If the user's base Int is 120 or higher,
- Reduces the variable casting time of skills by an additional 6%.
- Increases the recovery rate of recovery skills and recovery items by an additional 15%.
- Increases the recovery rate of incoming recovery skills by an additional 15%.
- Reduces damage taken from Demi-Human race enemies by an additional 4%.

 

Gambler's Seal/ Heard Card In Mouth Combo (DECENT MID/LOW SET)

- Crit + 3
- Increases critical damage on targets by 3%.
- Reduces damage taken from Arrow Storm and Gates of Hell by 10%.
- Reduces critical damage on targets by an additional 2% for every 10 base Dex.
- Additional Crit + 1, Atk and Matk + 2 for every 10 base Luk.
- Additional Crit + 5 and increases critical damage on targets by an additional 10%, if the users base Luk is 108 or higher.
- Additional Crit + 10, increases critical damage on targets by an additional 17% and reduces damage taken from Arrow Storm and Gates of Hell by an additional 30%, if the users base Luk is 120 or higher.

Heart Card In Mouth (https://www.divine-pride.net/database/item/19306/heart-card-in-mouth)
- Increases critical damage on targets by 5%.

SET BONUS: (THIS SET IS INSANELY GOOD SPECIALLY FOR CUSTOM SKILL CRIT ON CC IF YOU STILL AREN'T ABLE TO MAX OUT ON CRIT DAMAGE AND CRIT RATE VIA ACUTE ENCHANT)
- Aspd + 1
- Additional Aspd + 1, if the users base Luk is 108 or higher.
- Additional Aspd + 2, if the users base Luk is 120 or higher.
- Increases critical damage on targets by 2%.
- Increases critical damage on targets by an additional 2%., if the users base Luk is 108 or higher.
- Increases critical damage on targets by an additional 4%., if the users base Luk is 120 or higher.
- Increases critical damage on targets by an additional 2% for every 10 base Dex.
- Reduces damage taken from Demi-Human race enemies by 2%.
- Reduces damage taken from Demi-Human race enemies by an additional 2%, if the users base Luk is 108 or higher.
- Reduces damage taken from Demi-Human race enemies by an additional 4%, if the users base Luk is 120 or higher.
- Reduces damage taken from Critical Slash by 100%.
- Enables Splash Attacks.if the users base Luk is 120 or higher.

 

ARMOR:

Soaring Physical Armor (https://www.divine-pride.net/database/item/15278/soaring-physical-armor-1) IMHO, BEST OPTION FOR STARTING OUT SINCE YOU CAN WEAR IT AT LV.1 AND IT HAS COMBO WITH STR BOOTS
- Atk + 50.
- Atk + 2% per 3 refine rate.
- If refine rate is 7 or higher, ignores physical defense of Brute and Demon races by 30%.
- If refine rate is 9 or higher, increases physical damage against Brute and Demon race by 10%.
- If refine rate is 11 or higher, increases physical damage against wind and earth properties monster by 10%.

 

Evil Dragon Armor (https://www.divine-pride.net/database/item/15145/evil-dragon-armor-1) FOR WHEN YOU'RE STRUGGLING TO SLUG YOUR WAY IN THE EARLY LEVELS, EASILY THE BEST LEECH EQUIP PERIODTSZ.
If upgrade level is +8 or higher,
- Adds a 3% chance of restoring 3% of damage as HP when performing a physical attack.
- Adds a 2% chance of restoring 2% of damage as SP when performing a physical attack.
If upgrade level is +9 or higher,
- Adds an additional 1% chance of restoring an additional 1% of damage as HP when performing a physical attack.
- Adds an additional 1% chance of restoring an additional 1% of damage as SP when performing a physical attack.
If upgrade level is +10 or higher,
- Adds an additional 2% chance of restoring an additional 2% of damage as HP when performing a physical attack.
- Adds an additional 2% chance of restoring an additional 2% of damage as SP when performing a physical attack.

 

Illusion Armor Type-A (https://www.divine-pride.net/database/item/15376/kRO) THIS IS THE STRONGEST OF THE THREE, IT NEEDS MORE INVESTMENTS BUT GETTING 2X POWER MODULES AND 1 RANGED IS VERY STRONG FOR STARTING OUT AND IS CONSIDERABLY CHEAPER THAN MOST ENDGAME OPTIONS
- Atk + 100.
- Atk + 10 per 2 refine rate.
- If refine rate is 7 or higher, increases attack speed (reduces delay after attack by 10%).


NICHE ARMORS: (DRESS SET)

- Due to the update on bio5 enchants, going agi manteu might not be necessary if you can obtain acute10, which I still haven't so I cannot say for sure right now

- CC doesn't need pierce, it just doesn't check enemy def
- CC cannot be spammed via ACD, it has 0.6 seconds of animation lock 
- CC can be danced for a bit of spam, like how we used to do Cross Impact dance

+20 (coolant w/ enchant)weapon | +12 Taurus Diadem VS +20 (coolant w/ enchant)weapon | +12 Old Midas w/ lv 10 acute = Taurus Win 
+20 (coolant w/ enchant)weapon | +20 Taurus Diadem VS +20 (coolant w/ enchant)weapon | +20 Old Midas w/ lv 10 acute = Old Midas Win

Because of the fact that weapons are generally much easier to +20, this means that if you don't plan to main genetic and only want it at a useable level, then Taurus is the way to go as there's not much reason to +20 a Taurus Diadem other than minor flat atk bonuses. On the other hand, due to old midas having the same skill% boosting + enchant option, it wins in the end
