[1-] The Shadow - What is a Guillotine Cross[GX]

Spoiler

The Guillotine Cross is a multi-purpose class in Ragnarok Online, and probably the class that changed the most through the years. Once an Assassin with the then very strong Venom Splasher and Sonic Blow for hit and run tactics, rising through the lines with the Enchant Deadly Poison and massive damage variation, currently the GX is overshadowed on both single target and Area of Effec(AoE) damage, being forgotten and known only as a farming cheap class.

Or is it?

The point of this guide isn't to teach you how to level fast with a guillotine cross, nor does it prove how it is superior to any other class, or even that it is the best class in the game. What it does is SHOW you all the options, so that any player can make their own path. Regardless of their preferences or zeny available. You won't learn here how to get specific items, or how to find something. There are guides much more focused on that, and you can also use the wiki. This is about BUILDING. I won't give you any bread and butter builds. I'll show you all the choices you have at your disposal, now or in the future.

[2-] While you were shooting arrows, I studied the blade [DPS and build optimization]

Spoiler

Please refer to my guide on the forum on how to make an effective build, it contains the focus of this guide in full detail: usability.
Also keep in mind all the item choices and such won't take into consideration MvP Cards or uber +20 gear.

[3-] The Path - Build Options

The GX has many choices about how to build, depending on your resources and play style.
I will present every reasonable build with a grade from 1 to 5, based on -MY- opinion about the class. The builds will also receive a [Tag], that will be used on items and atributes to show if that item is usable on a given build, along with average DPS for reasonably geared with Dark Claw/Elemental Advantage.

[NEW] - Since many new equipment change and improve all builds, I'll only mention new items that directly boost a given build here.

image.png.a666db6bceff05bbfc831947fcdeb34d.png[Ckt]Critical Katar Build:

Spoiler

Core: Juliette D. Rachel[2] (+Dog Tag Acessory on Niflheim) / Sidewinder Card

The Bread and Butter build. Katars provide 2x Crit rate, have a nice aspd, and many skills available only for them. The critical build is a good starter, satisfying to play with and enables massive, unavoidable damage. Although lacking good AoE options.

[NEW]  -  With the new Guillotine Cross II stones, the katar crit closed the gap and may even surpass the dual dagger crit build. The simple fact it boosts critical damage massively along with providing double attack and the new Mutant Dolor card, Now the build can reach some great numbers. Stills amazing with Juliette D. Rachel.

Highest Point = Ease of use at a low price
Lowest Point = Single target only

[NEW] Average DPS on Niflheim: 5.300.000
[NEW] Average DPS on Helheim: 2.100.000

[NEW] Power= 3/5 - not so much power, lack of AoE - The new patch easily puts critical katar back into a viable scene
Cost = 3/5 - not so expensive for a reasonable DPS
Defense = 1/5 - It has no defense choices without sacrificing a lot of damage potential
Instance = 3/5 - It can clear a lot of stuff, albeit slowly
Bio 5 = 2/5 - Needs a party to be effective, easily outclassed by many classes
[NEW]Fortessa = 4/5 - Can Handle most 1F mobs, struggles on most others. too slow. The new power boosts makes it possible to kills some monster so fast it becomes easier.
MVP = 3/5 - Anything without reflect shield can be handled no problem, may struggle with mvp mobs or nukes
[NEW]World Boss = 4/5 - If the World Boss is vulnerable to melee damage, you'll have a pretty good result, top 10 if well geared. - Top 3 in Poison Queen with good gear easily.

image.png.84cacd862aa683b9598b26a85b38afaf.pngimage.png.86b198a600275a5d7ab5e90d6c64e794.png[CDD] Critical Dual Dagger Build:

Spoiler

Core: Massive ASPD and CRIT enchants on shadow gears to save for damage on armor slots.

It's a novelty, much harder to equip variation of the critical katar, once my favorite, has a higher damage potential, at a higher cost. Requires a decent amount of ASPD and Crit on gear for it to work.

[NEW] The new Metal Detector daggers bring so much damage to the table that it can make the dual dagger crit outshine every other build when fully geared, SPECIALLY with a Lord Knight Card.

Highest Point = Extra hits and choices like cards slots and ice pick compared to katar.
Lowest Point = can easily cost double the amount

[NEW]Average DPS on Niflheim: 6.500.000
[NEW]Average DPS on Helheim: 2.300.000

[NEW]Power= 4/5 - more than Katar, stills lacks AoE The simple fact that now you can use Counter Slash more reliably due to the ACD and weapon attack are self explanatory
[NEW]Cost= 6/5 - Easily one of the most expensive builds to make effectively The fact it requires TWO well enchanted, random weapons to maximize the power... ouch.
[NEW]Defense= 3/5 - Can take some hits due to different gear options and shield swapping. Stills made of paper. Can use Counter Slash to hold its own against high numbers.
Instance = 3/5 - What you can do with the katar, you can do with the daggers
[NEW]Bio 5 = 4/5 - Needs a party to be effective, easily outclassed by many classes. More power, fast killing, possible to kill some monsters before they react.
[NEW]Fortessa = 4/5 - Can Handle most 1F mobs, struggles on most others. too slow. Will kill most stuff it can hit before they can react, stills almost useless in pit.
[NEW]MVP = 4/5 - Save for reflect shield, can handle anything, must watch out for nukes. The king of MVP reliablility is back to the DPS race, and can face anything with no reflect.
[NEW]World Boss = 4/5 - If the World Boss is vulnerable to melee damage, you'll have a pretty good result, top 5 if well geared. Will top 3 Poison Queen, not so much otherwise.

image.png.ac9d8b293820770b04a3a7abdf87c327.png[CI] Cross Impact Build:

Spoiler

Core: True Eremes Guile Cards, massive attack power stacking.

It's also possible to "dance" with the skill, canceling the animation with movement to chain 2 of these, and rarely, 3. Essentially required to play.

Nuke build of the GX, struggles with constant damage, but its focused on killing on a single blow, not the best nowadays but can still shine on the right hands (and content)

[NEW] The new Metal Detector daggers not only are insanely strong, but they bring extra cross impact damage. The nuke is even "nukier" now

Highest Point = Kills stuff in a single blow or two sometimes
Lowest Point = If it doesn't kill stuff in a single "dance", it's dps goes down VERY fast.

[NEW]Average Damage per cast on Niflheim: 10.600.000
[NEW]Average Damage per cast on Helheim: 2.400.000

[NEW]Power= 3/5 - it's a single target, nuke build. And the nuke isn't so impressive. The fact it can one shot so much stuff makes it better, but stills lacks AoE and choices.
[NEW]Cost= 5/5 - Requires Multiple (6+) Bio 5 cards, Bio5  Hat, and perfect atk bonuses.  Two random, well enchanted daggers. So much new gear to make it viable.
[NEW]Defense= 0/5 - Where? Might be even weaker now on new high end maps due to the lack of continuous DPS and any flee.
Instance = 2/5 - Its slow.
[NEW]Bio 5 = 4/5 - With dark claw and correct preparation, can one shot almost any monster there. It one shots stuff, but what it couldn't handle before, won't handle now
[NEW]Fortessa = 4/5 - Can one shot some monsters, too unreliable on anything else. Can one shot most non pit mobs now, if it hits.
[NEW] MVP = 0/5 - With the green aura, rarely you will be able to one shot mvps, but some can be dealt with, agi up and reflect shield screws you. The buffs to the other builds makes the cross impact build an even worse choice for green aura targets.
World Boss = 1/5 - Use Class Mastery and change your class.

image.png.97ab97d4e983a4d85a7119ceafb00fc4.png[RC] Rolling Cutter Build

Spoiler

Core Items: Rideword Hat and Thanatos Katar

The most common and cheap guillotine cross build, provides decent defense with leech gear, can clear most instances without much issue and is one of the most popular ones. doesn't have the best DPS but if you're running this build for the damage, you're doing it wrong.

Highest Point = Spin2Win, massive leech potential with rapid hits, easy and cheap. AoE
Lowest Point = Extremely boring, makes no sense on the class theme, the damage ceilling is very low.

[NEW] The usability of the build was buffed considerably with the advent of the new Bolt Crusher Katar. The extra ACD ensures more gear options.

[NEW]Average DPS on Niflheim: 3.000.000
[NEW]Average DPS on Helheim: 1.000.000

[NEW]Power= 3/5 - Its very weak compared to most builds, but it's an AoE  Now with a decent weapon and 20% free ACD, it can gear appropriately for maximum spin2win.
Cost= 1/5 - Rideword Hat + Thanatos katar and you're set to farm, can use more expensive stuff too.
[NEW]Defense= 5/5 - Massive leeching, with Deviling + Holy Armor, can take MANY hits. You can use the extra ACD to get defensive gears and become a leeching monster.
Instance = 4/5 - Can't clear all of them, but what it can clear, it clears VERY well.
[NEW]Bio 5 = 0/5 - Don't even try Even worse choice compared to others now.
[NEW]Fortessa = 2/5 - It can sort of farm there, but it's unreasonable and very slow. Can handle mobs a bit easier, might miss a lot on some targets.
MVP = 3/5 - It can kill some mvps with patience, the leeching mitigates the reflect shield, but agi up breaks you.
World Boss = 2/5 - Might get some reasonable damage, nothing to write home about.

image.png.5e965c81ba5fe6393609e138cb8411cf.png[SD] Soul Destroyer Build - THIS SKILL WILL BE REWORKED SOON AND IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR NOW

Spoiler

Core Items: Enforcer Manteau + Kardui Ears/Tree Sprout (Niflheim) / Ranged/Int stuff (Helheim)

For the absolute madman, brings back the scares of old times, with massive ranged, mixed damage. Can handle most issues and never misses. Also can be spammed with 100% after cast reduction and fixed cast removal + int/dex. It's also important to remember not to count the left hand attack, only card% and matk counts for the left hand. Ranged bonuses (hello, expert archer) also works with half its damage.

[NEW] Soul Destroyer will be reworked soon into a fully physical skill, althought I don't personally like this change (It was a pretty unique skill. Albeit very niche), Im calling "Aimed Bolt Guillotine Cross" now. In nif it's potential probably will be INCREDIBLE with the enforcer manteau.

Highest Point = Ranged, Def Piercing never miss 1/2magic damage.
Lowest Point = Its VERY limited.

Average DPS on Niflheim: 3.200.000 (Piercing, Ranged)
Average DPS on Helheim: 200.000  (Piercing, Ranged)

Power= 3/5 - The DPS potential might not be amazing, but the fact you can use it on ANY situation makes it amazing.
Cost= 3/5 - So much niche gear you might need to farm most of the stuff yourself.
Defense= 3/5 - Enforcer manteau provides massive defensive bonuses, the ranged factor helps with positioning.
Instance = 3/5 - Slow but certain clear, you can use this build ANYWHERE and it works.
Bio 5 = 2/5 - You might kill some stuff, but its slow and unreliable
Fortessa = 3/5 - Can kill most fortessa 3 before they can reach you, also decent for fortessa 1.
MVP = 2/5 - You can kill some mvps, and ignore most of their buffs, but the gree aura cripples you.
World Boss = 1/5 - Due to its mixed formular, it doesn't properly work on either magic or ranged bosses, don't even try.

image.png.1624955c3a4f88373c991dcc5827653c.png[MA] Meteor Assault Build

Spoiler

Core Items: Enforcer Shoes (Niflheim) / Whatever (Helheim)

It's essentially a non existent build on Helheim. The damage potential on niflheim is absolutely insane, the only downside being the accuracy needs and the
0.5 cooldown that makes it a VERY slow and boring build to play. It's not reliable for leeching or defense building due to the "Stack attack as much as possible" nature of the build.

[NEW] Since it's a jRO based build, the patch changes nothing on this build, save for the usual stronger armor, better weapons and such, nothing specific.

Highest Point = Very easy to build, reliable, high damage output, AoE
Lowest Point = Extremely boring, if it misses, you're dead. very slow.

[NEW]Average DPS on Niflheim: 9.500.000
[NEW]Average DPS on Helheim: 120.000 (lol) (roflmao)

[NEW]Power= 4/5 - It's one of the best DPS builds out there Everyone else got a new toy, Meteor Assault gets a handshake.
Cost= 2/5 - Get Enforcer shoes, thats it, 70% of the build is ready
Defense= 1/5 - No leech potential, no defense openings, no sinergy with defensive gear.
Instance = 4/5 - It can clear most content.
Bio 5 = 3/5 - Usable, but you'll die a lot
Fortessa = 4/5 - Able to farm any floor without many issues, but will die a lot.
MVP = 3/5 - It's slow and the high burst damage will one shot you on reflect. Agi up is a distant dream.
World Boss = 2/5 - It works on what it can do. thats it.

image.png.648c5a8a9235682503b06bd83fea2bd0.png[CRS] Cross Ripper Slash Build

Spoiler

Core Items: Meuchler-OS / Ripper Cross / Ranged Gear

Ah, the "big numbers" build. it has HORRENDOUS dps, but can pack quite a punch and deal massive damage with 10 stacks. REALLY massive. Requires an absurd amount of ranged gear, is slow as heck but very satisfying to use. Its a slower, ranged Cross Impact.

[NEW] It didn't get any build specific gear, but with acess to the Agi Soutane, it now has access to reliable long range boosts (looking at you, Illusion Modificaton Modules)

Highest Point = Massive damage, ranged.
Lowest Point = You'll fall asleep using this build, terrible DPS due to CRS preparation

[NEW] Average Damage per cast on Niflheim: 15.000.000
[NEW] Average Damage per cast on Helheim: 3.600.000

[NEW] Power= 4/5 - Damage is very good, consistency is terrible. It's like shooting cross impacts at an enemy now.
Cost= 5/5 - Lots of current gear with lots of expensive enchants.
Defense= 1/5 - You're a ranger now.
Instance = 2/5 - VERY slow, might get some usability with rolling cutter swap gear, then its 4/5.
Bio 5 = 5/5 - You can one hit K.O. anything, even MVPs with correct bonuses on Niflheim. just needs preparation.
Fortessa = 4/5 - Can one hit a lot of stuff, but is VERY slow to farm well.
MVP = 3/5 - Any low end MVP can be killed in a single shot.
World Boss = 4/5 - Can be nice for PvP WB due to safety from range, as well as ranged damage vulnerable mvps.

image.png.ad43ed56243534ceddd7c532f2a73eff.pngimage.png.5280187adb1e29268c8b7c25d6b948bd.png[CS] Counter Slash Build - Guide Highlight

Spoiler

Core Items: Oni Horns (Niflheim) / Lava Set (Helheim) / Vicious Mind Dagger (outdated) /[NEW] Metal Detector Mk47

My current build, developed and studied by me (patent pending). It's hands down the strongest build for overall use. brings DPS on par/higher than Niflheim Meteor Assault, and easily Outshines any Helheim build, even without oni horns. Did I mention you can leech, it synergizes with tanky stuff and its VERY satisfying to use?
Needs a weapon blocking proc to use, so you can spam it for 10 seconds... at 100% acd, its absolutely INSANE. Currently weapon blocking only triggers on attacks that actually hit you, but it should proc on missed hits as well, so you might be using 100% acd Soul Breaker + meteor assault to engage enemies, then counter slash them to pieces on proc. (Lunar fix it pls).

[NEW] My GOD! The latest patch fixed the weapon block to proc on miss, making it 10 times more reliable even on single enemies. along with the new dagger and GX Stones II, the build has never been stronger! thats 40% guaranteed on ACD for weapons. Absolutely a monster for the new patch.

[NEW] Highest Point = Massive damage, leech potential, very tanky, reliable. Can now be used against single target enemies.
Lowest Point = Needs a proc, very expensive, knockback effect can be annoying on non-boss. Might crash your client due to sheer damage amount.

[NEW]Average DPS on Niflheim: 23.000.000 (Full Damage) / 16.000.000 (Leech + Tanky)
[NEW]Average DPS on Helheim: 4.300.000 (Full Damage) / 3.000.000 (Leech + Tanky)

[NEW]Power= 6/5 - I kill bloody branches in waves of 7 with it regularly. It kills enemies, bosses, Bio 5, players, World bosses and even your client if you're not careful on nif.
[NEW]Cost= 6/5 - 100% acd gear, high refines, decent vicious weapons, a lot of unorthodox anti meta gear. Requires 2 random, well enchanted weapons. the ACD is guaranteed now.
Defense= 5/5 - Defends, leeches, tanks and heals, with over 900 DEF on tanky variation and Enforcer Manteau for extra defenses on Niflheim.
[NEW]Instance = 6/5 - Can clear any instance without any issues whatsoever. You can solo all instances faster now.
[NEW]Bio 5 = 3/5 - Usually when you get attacked you die, so it relies a lot on procs, unreliable. Extra power won't kill better and if you don't have a dedicated dispeller, you'll kill yourself a LOT.
Fortessa = 5/5 - You can mob fortessa 3 no problem with it. Solo pit is BARELY doable.
[NEW]MVP = 5/5 - It kills stuff, damage isn't as bursty as meteor assault so you wont be one shot by reflect, agi up can be a problem. Has the option of using a shield to tank hard hits due to a single weapon being so strong.
[NEW]World Boss =3/5 - You WILL get top 3 10 if it's a PvP boss due to other players triggering weapon block, when you spam counter slash, MANY people around you dies >:), it also has a "reasonable" potential on melee only non pvp world bosses with meteor assault and criticals. You might crash the client on Niflheim ifyou face Shalltear or Skeleton Queen, it's reliabilty on PvP World bosses is smaller due to other players hitting you for collateral damage so strongly now.

image.png.6701c375d0bade163ab9d06660e2d398.png[SBA] Sonic Blow Autocast Build

Spoiler

Core Items: Krishna / Sloth Hat(Niflheim) / Injustice Card.

The Sonic blow autocast build is a VERY unorthodox build, that relies on multiple autocast procs to deal damage. Since it limites your weapon, hat, and weapon card options, it can be a VERY bad build overall, but also amusing and gimmicky. causing many "WTF" situations. Might also be surprisingly good in good hands and specific situations.

[NEW] Gimmick build is gimmicky and didn't receive any relevant support outside of generic items. You might want to combine it with other autocast builds, but don't count on it.

Highest Point = Good potential, extremely cheap, very funny.
Lowest Point = Very limited in gear options, low damage ceiling, relies on Soul Link for maximum effectiveness.

Average DPS on Niflheim: 3.000.000?
Average DPS on Helheim: 400.000?
This build's DPS is very unreliable.

Power= ?/5 - The randomness of this build, coupled with the lack of perfect hit, makes it very unreliable and unexpected.
Cost= 2/5 - All items are VERY cheap and mostly require some basic high level farming.
Defense= 1/5 - Its a Katar Crit build with no crits.
Instance = 2/5 - It can do some stuff.
Bio 5 = 1/5 - Yeah, procs in bio 5 only work with massive item stacking.
Fortessa = 2/5 - It MAY work in fortessa 1 or 3, but it's not reliable
MVP = 3/5 - It can kill MVPs, but it may take a while.
World Boss = 0/5 - Autocasts don't usually work well on World Bosses.

[4-] The Master - Gearing Guide and Explanation

The gearing method is based on a cost/benefit priority, most items do have a "perfect, Best in Slot (BiS)" possibility, but sometimes it's not needed to have a decent or very usable result. You should also keep in mind that some builds may require MASSIVE investments to be viable (Cross Ripper Slash), or no investment overall after a single item (Meteor Assault on Niflheim). Be aware though that some builds are ABSOLUTELY different under a "close to perfect" vs a "perfect" situation and may require a full build planned for it. (Counter Slash 95% acd is MUCH slower than 100% acd).

The Items will be in 3 colors.
[Green] Items are easy to get, and shouldn't take too much effort or money
[Yellow] Items require some planning or specific enchants, and can be worked for with enough effort. May require some market dispute.
[Orange] Requires extensive farming and may take a while to get, but its attainable with hard work, very difficult to find on the market for any non-overpriced value.
[Red] Items that are unreasonable expectations, and although they can easily make your results better, they are NOT realistic or reliably farmed short term and may lead to frustration if too much time/money is spent on them early on.

One thing that won't be mentioned further ahead and is very important : Nullify your size penalty. Specially with daggers. Daggers have reduced damage potential on anything but small size enemies, and katars also deal reduced for large/small size. It's absolutely the must have bonus regardless of your build. There are several ways to attain it:

1- Drake Card, the best choice most of the time
2- Vicious Weapon Enchant, on first slot, usually good but 11~15% ATK enchant may be better due to how it works.
3- Infinity Shadow Earring + Pendant, a very cheap choice, and one of my favourites. Works for most builds without any issues.
4- Infinity Shadow Weapon, VERY EXPENSIVE due to +10 refinement required. may work very well on some builds that have no shadow weapon requirement.
5- RWC knife proc chance. unreliable and very outdated. used on swapping, making everything slower and requiring more hotkey work. Not recommended on most cases.

Acess to Dispel can also make your life very easier. On niflheim it's easier to have with a Randgris MVP or Bio 4 Celia through "Soul Contract", since the slave versions also dispel their targets, or through Randgris card on both servers, with some luck or high investment. Due to the problem with Agi UP making your attacks miss, and Reflect Shield making you spam so much healing or not leeching enough.

As a final advice, don't decide your build only on numbers, if you like flashy crits, go for it!, if you prefer to cause massive damage on a single cast, focus on that, and so on, there's a build for everyone!

[5-] The Arsenal - Weapons

-Katars-

Katars are the signature weapons of guillotine crosses. their biggest difference are an extra, weaker hit, as well  as a double critical rate chance, making them MUCH easier to attain 193 ASPD as well as 100 crit compared to daggers. As another bonus, katar users have access to all class skills.

image.png.786cc4d8452e54cb955f9054d84fc031.png[Ckt][CRS][RC]Thanatos Katar: Easily the BEST starting weapon due to the life leech effect, as well as the very strong bonus enchants. can rival good katars all the way up with a Ruff Officer Hat at +12 (granting 120 extra attack).
image.png.4ad9dc740dd05234627a17ab15ce549d.png[Ckt][CRS][RC]Juliette D. Rachel : By many, considered the best katar in the game, the fact it works with essentially any build makes it a very good katar to have. when in doubt, go for it. Usually going for Sharp enchants is better than Fighting Spirit, due to the very small attack bonuses, and extra crit helps on every build (what will your Rolling Cutter do if it can't hit the Garm MVP with agi up and 2% HP left? You crit it to death.), can also be enchanted with expert archer for old fashioned Cross Ripper Slash damage bonus.
image.png.307fe1a72dd5147072945ba7e40376a2.pngimage.png.d21b1fc592d92ecb43692adc9fd296e4.png[CRS]Meuchler-OS and Ripper Cross: Both are VERY good choices for Cross Ripper Slash, with a slighty edge to Ripper Cross on general use and Meuchler-OS on DUMMIES (and one of the reasons I hate dummy damage building).
image.png.8c33eb12c15d9b8688f0835a878104c8.png[Ckt]Illusion Sharpened Legbone of Ghoul Lv5/Lv5 Acute Enchant: Probably the BEST critical katar weapon, can even surpass Juliette D Rachel with Dog Tag (Under +14 Upgrade), too bad it requires absolutely PERFECT enchants and is unreasonable to get.
image.png.494a91fd1a42a33917cf98d731cdaf19.png[RC]Blade Katar : General use for Rolling Cutter, good damage, no leech potential, makes it a good "benchmark" katar for rolling cutter. Outclassed by Ruff Officer + Thanatos Katar combo by usability.
image.png.889088e234ce905dea8e2e0f4ead4885.png[SBA]Krishna : Due to the autocast property, it's a core weapon on the build, sinergy with Assassin Handcuffs is incredible for it.Can also be enchanted.
image.png.ac1a2afadd58fcfb477baefcc8b2eac8.png[All]Vicious Mind Katar : the flexibility as well as the very high damage potential makes it one of the best weapons in the game with the right enchants, but also unpredictable in farming.

28045.png[NEW] [All]Bolt Crusher:  The new katar has massive enchants, good ACD and versatility, a must for Rolling Cutter, a good choice for everything else.

-Daggers-

Daggers are the heavy hitters of the weapons, they have a big versatility, many slots and build choices. Also require higher investment and preparation due to the more difficult ASPD requirements and double the weapon cost.

image.png.d604050d7f985fbaae1744ad8e8403b5.png[CDD][CI][MA]Scalpel: Very cheap, very weak "WTF do you use it?" Weapon, due to three slots and Lv4, it can hold its own very well against other weapons.
image.png.4cfe53c9214041bad2294e6cf33f4d3e.png[CDD][CI][MA][CS]Sandstorm: Best Left hand weapon for slots. has very low attack that can be outclassed by other more focused choices. Valkyrie Knife is a better option on Niflheim only(massively for cross impact). Due to the lack of complementary stats,it is recommended only on fully prepared builds.
image.png.e63067ef0043a49f655218ff4c619ece.png[CDD][CI][SD][CS]Vicious Mind Dagger: The best counter slash dagger, requires after cast delay enchants to be usable for the build. The good attack potential, ASPD enchants and ease to obtain also makes it very good for a critical build main hand weapon.
image.png.8fd243ba858d3b4d2f74ce1325d4ecec.png[CDD]RWC Memory Knife: At +20 on ring combo in niflheim server, can bring your attack up by -370-. better damage potential than ANY mainhand dagger other than +20 vicious mind dagger, however, even with a compromise on the accessory slot the drake effect procs can make it very worth it. can be used overall before you have acess to better weapons, even at +9, its nothing terrible and cheap to make.
image.png.eb41217ca36e4facd89bd484f39ddf19.png[CDD][SD][MA]Faceworm Queen's Leg: Has a good damage power, the proc is a nice bonus and the 120 extra MATK makes it a very good main or offhand weapon for soul destroyer.
image.png.123e68572890cacaa14d3f0aa4a49e0d.png[All]Ice Pick: Both versions, due to enchants on the non-slotted version with sharp. a very old weapon and stills very much usable nowadays, can deal higher damage than others on enemies with 300+ def. A good weapon for swapping.
image.png.db2d6fd8ceaee37acc14b481393cba7f.png[All]Krieg: The eddga drop is often overlooked, is also a good weapon with enchants as extra options for left hand, is very easily outclassed by expensive cards or high refines.
image.png.d0936b39303b5a45f1cc5aa5039a8384.png[SD]Illusion Bazerald: The best Soul Destroyer dagger, can easily out DPS other choices by over 20%. Can be worn with the Illusion Flower combo for a very weird and usable, low cost, combo. A pain in the ass to farm.
image.png.f9ce9094f09fa30ebe6854f96f8ab432.png[CS]Thanatos Dagger: Good leveling dagger for 1x rate with counter slash. due to the slow but strong hits the leech procs MAY help a bit, along with the enchants. recommended before you can wear something better.

28771.png[NEW] [All]Metal Detector Mk47:  The dagger that everyone ever wished for. good attack, two slots, strong bonuses and the 20% acd on EACH. Did I mention it can be enchanted?

-Swords-

image.png.eeaaffa47fa317095af40cb9a9190ea3.png[CDD]Vicious Mind Saber: A very strong, hard hitting weapon for the left hand. The massive ASPD penalty might easily make it garbage unless built for it.
image.png.a2f71a41990a0903b64f38c3635b437a.png[CI][SD]Twin Edge of Naght Sieger : Best weapon for main hand and off hand Cross Impact, has decent attack, Lv4 and 3 slots, as well as enchant options, can also work on soul destroyer, barely.
image.png.dd13dd82bd1e8ecde07f632f562ffefb.png[SD]Old Parasol: It's the best MATK option for soul destroyer builds along with Illusion Bazerald, has a massive potential and can be very unpredictable and surprising, worth a try.
image.png.1eb5b189f24b4fdfebf50fe24f5a49ad.png[SD]Excalibur(Niflheim): Has 3 slots and decent MATK, can be used in right hand to save on aspersio costs and reliability.
image.png.71bffb2166bdfe23a6c10d3ffab01879.png[CI][SD]Byeollungum: Good weapon, very overrated, nothing special, can be enchanted according to use. Niflheim version is better but stills nothing special.
image.png.2d39d6d2a0fc70e3c6e3f33680f08cd9.png[SD][?]Elemental Sword: Makes autocast GX a possibility, very weird. Can be used on Soul Destroyer as well.
image.png.c8eb9364d0af89aa4568aef72464ed41.png[CI]Blade[4]: Very old weapon, better than sandstorm for offhand if you have size penalty, usable if you don't have 2 Naght Sieger weapons.

-Axes-

Yeah, GX can use some, like Orcish Axe[4](Lol at Cross Impact Axe), all are garbage. 2x Axe GX build when gravity????

image.png.7e920851ca8f389e618150c92925a324.pngimage.png.42cf29a0509a5ce36b1d27d5babba1f7.pngimage.png.4ede5be2ce8f07941c3bc428fa4099ce.pngimage.png.33923ff43bec50f8c5d2c1a265cc56c9.pngCkt][CDD]Sapha Armor Set: Very good starter critical set. can be enough for quite a while and before you start running harder instances. Sapha Armor is specially effective in bumping crit rate with enchants.
image.png.df3e5de311ea8bb63eac9ffc2beb6e61.pngimage.png.481237cc4c23e2ee20990ad9361be6fb.pngimage.png.4450373bd21afd0671bdd0a4500f5f5b.png[ALL]YSF Armor Combo: Even with the very steep stats and refinement requirements, can be very good for a focused build, either for the raw attack power, good after cast delay reduction or the defense pierce proc. VERY expensive and stat hungry.
image.png.bb3a5d4b1aa98bcf0d695d672469920b.pngimage.png.c47c9e9c2966818f5958e1908e91732b.pngimage.png.b92fd26532f9ad651d98b04f9fdbfd82.png[ALL]Full Temporal Set (Armor+Manteau+Boots): Due to the lack of synergy between the items, the full set isn't recommended in some situations, but separate pieces might be worn according to stats requirements.

Specific gear pieces will be analyzed on their sections as well.

[NEW] [ALL]Noblesse/Imperial/Grace Sets: Are GREAT choices for those still leveling or gearing up. Can be farmed easily on Room of Counsciouness with some patience. The Grace armors can hold their own against some endgame armors as well.

15398.png20947.png22209.png310081.png[NEW] [ALL]Clergy/Soutane Sets.: The armors by themselves are VERY good choices, as a full set, unless you really need 20% extra ACD, pass. The armor has a nice enchant as well.

15391.png22208.png20946.png[NEW] [ALL]Dragon Sets.: The armors by themselves are pretty good, not as much as the Soutane armors, but as a full set if you can make use of the set bonuses they can be INCREDIBLE. Keep in mind the procs are WHEN RECEIVING DAMAGE.

200/70 ARMOR TIP: If going for the new armors, use Soutanes if you plan on using only one piece, Dragon if you want to use the full set.

-Headgears-

Spoiler

image.png.b3750d95901b5a440d983715328030e0.png[All]Old Bone Circlet: Can be used on every build, specially Critical, Cross Impact and Cross Ripper Slasher, can be extremely costly but brings very good returns. requires enchants for maximum potential.
image.png.ff27a1e5d17e514a090329569194bb46.png[RC][CS]Rideword Hat: The classic GX hat, is very good for leeching potential, keeps your HP up.
image.png.c553e8d5bd9c22e36d0bc6bcb6ee981f.png[RC][CS]Vanargand Helm: Same as rideword, more SP leech, less HP leech.
image.png.f2348a0be196b89e9d41c3927bb41163.pngimage.png.0958ad071f60b954b0c1d7b1eafb9a3d.png[All]Ruff Officer/General Helm: Good with thanatos katar for more damage on rolling cutter(Ruff Officer). Good Option for any build that requires a solid Old Bone Circlet, but you couldn't finish the circlet yet (or messed up it's enchant Lv).
image.png.74e59f37bca96e24034200ad78821016.png[SD]Celine Ribbon: Very good MATK stats, Best for the build.
image.png.c4d0b495bdeb61a14f13b31eb2e62d66.png[All]Greater Dracule Helm: Very good option for HP leech, surpasses rideword hat, very annoying to get from World Boss.
image.png.28b9f13579dc7073971c629c5c89c855.png[SBA]Sloth Hat(Niflheim): Extra Sonic Blow procs, makes the build much more consistent and a nice DPS boost.
image.png.f6f57f2826be48c54b185e56d4450701.png[CS]Oni Horns(Niflheim): Instantly breaks the build and boosts damage, makes farming with Counter Slash kinda annoying with the massive knockback, the Pulse Strike effect reflects around every target, so more targets, more hits. With 5 targets, EVERY enemy will be hit 5 times each. and so on. Must Have for Niflheim. May crash the client if too much damage is triggered at the same time:

Spoiler

image.png.4ec9682bb6a7e46d783bbd4c9d25b9ff.png[All]Victorious Wing Ears: With different enchants for each build, its the best kRO middle headgear available. Also includes a slot.
image.png.1d098f2b9b709143c5568133c88ecd2c.png[RC][SD][CS]New Wave Sunglasses: The 10% after cast delay reduction can make the build much more flexible (and easier to get than perfect ACD enchant Victorious Wing Ears).
image.png.455b7db1dd65bb21ea44e1699427769a.pngimage.png.bf59af44fbd3224f528b2a86f3236c4c.png[ALL]Gambler Seal+Heart Card in Mouth Combo (Niflheim): Best overall use due to Niflheim's crit mechanics. although it can be out DPS'd by other options under specific cases, the difference is small enough that its not mandatory, but very recommended.
image.png.00f65783c7998d6f41b0cd69394ec83e.pngimage.png.d121903305a7c2d8f13514864b1ec30f.png[SD][CRS][CS]Tengu Mask + Tengu Scroll (Niflheim): Due to the HP leech potential, its a very reasonable choice if you already have 100 Crit, better damage overall for Cross Ripper Slasher than gambler combo.
image.png.58bd7c279165aeda42897455ac1202d1.pngimage.png.05f165d5a114028388ae982d2cbdaad5.png[SD]Kardui Ears + Tree Sprout (Niflheim): Besides cast reduction, very good synergy with magical builds.

5911.png19246.png[All]Imperial Feather + Royal Necklace (Niflheim): With 120 agi, you can get  over 100 atk, it is slightly worse than a gambler's seal, but MUCH easier to get.Gives you extra ASPD.

-Armors-

Spoiler

image.png.afc1abcf49e949f5353a235f410f3ff5.png[All]Abusive Robe: Easy to get nowadays, requires high refines to get to its true potential. Very good choice for armor piercing or general use.
image.png.5b163fde1613655d0dd85bbe6e2fb649.png[ALL]Illusion Armor A:Best Ok physical DPS armor in the game, can dish out massive damage with ACD, Shooter and Power enchants. Must be enchanted according to your build. Can get very expensive very fast. MUCH easier to get now.
image.png.5f12b8dc479d56fce062e88d9b58f001.png[CI]Heroic Hidden Cloth: outdated but still usable armor for cross impact, kinda annoying and luck based to get.
image.png.5f66b1d40749fc56e2bd4f62fec7a097.png[?]Armor of Purple Thread(Niflheim): Due to the perfect hit, removes part of the annoyance of agi up monsters, a very good "swap" armor for skill based builds.
image.png.b69e100bc7cf3814beccb1b07c1a89f2.png[RC][CS]Medical Scrub(Niflheim): Very good defensive, after cast delay armor. Recommended for survival needs.
image.png.f2686b21235763a3be9c78ec5982f656.png[SD]Flattery Robe/Lava Leather Robe: Best MATK armors in the game, Flattery is the better option with good enchants.
image.png.b0debce2a5f4c11721dd672072bb2b44.png[RC][CS]Evil Dragon Armor: Massive leech armor, can help make you unkillable as long as you can hit enemies.
image.png.4de217ad12f49c3332fb2ea1283f032c.png[All]Temporal X Armors: Usable in every case and every corresponding build. Just not the best in any situation, good alternatives.
image.png.ee337606a7af67cf7fe42dcd3f4dfedc.png[CRS]Khalitzburg Knight Armor(Niflheim): 2% ranged damage per refine, very good on +18 or higher refine. Completely outshined by the new armor sets now.

[NEW] [RC][CS][CRS]Grace Rolling Suit: It's like a cheaper Illusion Armor A

[NEW] [RC][CS][CRS]Grace Assassin Suit: Surprisingly solid choice for crit builds. can hold it's own against harder to get armor or even Illusion Armor

15398.png[NEW] [CI][RC][CS]Str Soutane: Very good attack power by itself, can easily break other choices with Str Blessing enchant.

15398.png[NEW] [CRS]Agi Soutane: Best choice for Cross ripper slash, strong attack power and bonuses.

15398.png[NEW] [Ckt][CDD]Luk Soutane: Incredible choice for raw attack power. outshined by Dragon Set.

15391.png[NEW] [CI][RC][CS]Red Dragon Plate: The complete set is PERFECT for counter slash build due to requirements of being hit. massive potential.

15392.png[NEW] [CRS]Green Dragon Plate: The complete set can rival the Agi Soutane bonuses, but it's not recommended due to lack of gear flexibility.

15396.png[NEW] [CKt][CDD]Silver Dragon Plate: Absolute monster for critical builds as a set, due to the absurd critical damage bonuses. Very recommended.

-Garments-

Spoiler

image.png.396dc8162767123ba5f545acac0ca6c0.png[SD][CS]Enforcer Manteau(Niflheim): Best defensive garment, reduces ALL ranged damage (magical and physical), gives you HP, after cast delay and boosts Soul Destroyer by A LOT. A must have item for ANY GX who needs defense as well.
image.png.b92fd26532f9ad651d98b04f9fdbfd82.png[All] Temporal X Manteau: Must be worn according to your needs, and enchanted accordingly. like after cast delay, Ranged Damage or Critical Damage. Temporal AGI Manteau brings the most overall damage power options on Niflheim.
image.png.b35c156e5b79b13b252743181fd04334.png[SD]Violet Halo: Alternative for Helheim, it's "good". Thats all.
image.png.728f0f9dfb3ab30045392b86c5886e9a.png[All]Fallen Angel Wings: Very outdated, once king of garment slot, stills can be enchanted according to build needs, outdone by temporal manteaus at high enchants. very modular armor.
image.png.349c89d433a470cd1b67d608a99fc410.png[All]Fallen Warrior Manteau: Pretty much the same as fallen angel wings, but overpriced, requiring extra refines and with some HP/SP. Not Recommended.

-Shoes-

Spoiler

image.png.ffe03a3e9e6ae62356fbbd04b1bb2ad9.png[All][MA]Enforcer Shoes(Niflheim): By far the best shoes for the class and one of the  best shoes overall. massive def pierce, makes Meteor Assault insane, good HP/SP and maximize power availability. Must have on Niflheim.
image.png.4458641265ff4716bb9a3e7a3deca215.png[All]Temporal X Boots: Temporal Luk for critical builds, Str for skill based builds, and Int for Soul Destroyer builds. An old safe choice.
image.png.8c02c0327f02fae2b7bcd1805f113b3d.png[All]Illusion Legs: Good alternative for non-crit builds, who want more defense, HP and synergy with the armor, viable but nothing special.

Shadow gear can be worn in different situations depending on your build needs, you also have different cost/benefit variations to consider when building your shadow arsenal. It's important not to ignore the combination of infinity shadow for drake effect, or almighty's +x stats on refine. All sets will be considered as +9.
It's important to remember that all non-class named shadow gear can be enchanted. enchant it according to your needs. usually 3% ATK or Long Range 5% for skills, and 5% critical damage for auto attack builds.

[ALL]Guillotine Cross/Assassin/Thief Set: The basic farmable set. can't be enchanted and brings good bonuses for general everyday use and when you're starting to gear your characters, a very good starting set, easy to farm and soon to be replaced. The combo is specially strong for the Sonic Blow Autocast build.

Spoiler

Critical Damage Options:

[Ckr][CDD]Mortal Blow Shadow Set: 25% critical damage, +3 ASPD, very good combo, outclassed damage wise by Katar shadow, but it has extra ASPD for Dual Dagger. It's a recommended better set, due to being certain constant bonus.
[Ckr][CDD]Katar Shadow Set:  9% critical damage, 27 atk and 9% all size damage. Also has a very good chance of proc for 15% crit damage/all size damage for 10 seconds. its overall stronger than mortal blow set, but not by much.

Skill Based Options:

[RC][CRS]Rolling Shadow Set: 40% rolling cutter damage, 10% attack, defense piercing, its easily the best rolling cutter set for general use. Very recommended.
[CRS][SD] Kingbird Shadow Set: Not recommended, 2% extra ranged damage, 19 atk and 20 hit. good thing is it's only 2 slots.
[All] Perfect Size Shadow Set: 7% all size physical/magical damage, 7% all size defense, 27 atk, 90 def and 2% HP/SP, very good set overall, soul destroyer loves it.

After Cast Delay Options:

[RC][SD][CS]Reload Shadow Set: 15% after cast delay. a good starting choice with easily farmable gear. can get reasonable results even at low refines. Also has a Reload Shadow Armor II variation, with some extra vit and hp recovery.
[RC][SD][CS]Slash Shadow Set: 13% after cast delay, 10% all sizes damage, combo with GX shadow weapon for 67% defense pierce and some 13% counter slash damage. A stronger version in all aspects compared to reload set, unless you REALLY need the 2% extra after cast delay.

General use Options:

[RC][CS]Malicious Shadow Set: Very good choice for extra life leech.
[All]Almighty Shadow Set: 2 acessory slots for +18 all stats, its not as good as it seems but its very good.
[All]Hasty Shadow Weapon: Very annoying to get from a world boss, 4% ATK/MATK, 15 Def/Flee, Bonus move speed if +10, can be a good choice for being standalone.

image.png.346703ac91f09e8bfd4bbc2a39db903f.pngCostume Stones and Enchants:

Spoiler

Reload Set - 5% after cast delay. good for overall use. You have a free garment slot as well.
Guillotine Cross Combo - amazing for rolling cutter and/or cross ripper slash.
HP Absorb - good for sustain, might get some mixed pieces for mid/low slot.
Attack - 5% attack power, free garment slot, good for maximum attack power for non RC/CRS builds.
Critical - Massive critical damage bonus, as well as 10 crit, very good and recommended for critical builds above any other choice.
Fixed Cast Stones - For Soul Destroyer Builds Only, very good to have without fixed cast reduction headgears (E.G. Ruff Officer)

[NEW] Guillotine Cross Combo II: The full set is must have for both critical builds, as well as Counter Slash. The after cast delay reduction, damage bonuses and double attack addition makes the stones one of the strongest stone sets in the game. Easily boost those build's directly or indirectly by over 30%.

Niflheim Costume Enchants:

Upper- 4800+ HP enchants, no other good options
Middle- you can either go 45+atk/14%+crit damage/4%+atk, any choice among those is good enough, go crit/crit for critical builds.
Lower- Either after cast delay 9%+/ ASPD or Crit if dual dagger critical. variable cast time is doable for soul destroyer.

image.png.cd2e4dfcae174170c9dbbfcb99f85faa.png[8-] The Tricks - Cards

Only Non MvP cards, lets be reasonable and go for farmable stuff. You may drop an MVP card, but it's not something you can count on short term.

Spoiler

Weapon Cards
Contaminated Wanderer - Good all purpose weapon card. One of the best choices.
White Knight - Reasonable Card, stills very good, easier to farm for, not rng based.
Abysmal Knight - Usually the best card for damage dealing, usually neglected for not showing up on dummies. It is better than all other general use cards, since its not size bonus, like 99% atk boosting gear.
Hunter Fly - Very good card for leeching
[NEW]Sidewinder- Essential card for critical katar build, that extra hit proc helps a lot. - NOT RECOMMENDED ANYMORE DUE TO GX STONES II

[NEW]Mutant Dolor Card: Best critical katar card for weapon, has so much bonus power that makes any other choice otherthan MAYBE contaminated wanderer bad.

Headgear Cards
Dark Pingicula/Duneyrr- good choices for attack power. Easy to get overall for Dark Pingicula

Angra Mantis- Best critical card for headgear.

Armor Cards
Angry Ninetails - extra crit rate and critical damage, very good.
Watcher- 30 atk but loses quite a bit of SP, high maintenance cost.

Angeling- Good choice for helheim that doesn't have elemental resist garments.
Ominous Solider- 100 DEF, 14%+HP and 3 vit, very good all around card, the defense/HPz bonus is better than extra, very low attack bonuses in my opinion, except for...

Brown Rat- best overall damage card available
Ancient Stone Shooter- Good for critical and some extra free ASPD.

Chaotic Acolyte- 4% after cast delay, restricted to one slot
Gigantes- kinda hard to get, good damage bonus by itself.
Dark Faceworm- 3% unrestricted after cast delay.
Chaotic Killer Mantis- 8% critical damage on combo. Very good.

[9-] The Soul - Mechanics and Skill use

  • -Back slide is a very good skill for repositioning by facing backwards and spamming it, as well as using it to reposition and avoid AoEs.
  • -Cross Impact requires "dancing". since it has an animation lock, if you move during the animation, you can recast the skill with no delay, can be done with some practice.
  • -Cross Ripper Slash causes the most damage by spamming 1~3 Rolling Counters and casting the skill, than stacking 10 counters each time.
  • -Rolling Cutter's key can be held down, no need to spam press it.
  • -Pick and Throw stone can be used to lure mobs from afar.
  • -Soul Destroyer is a very good skill to have regardless of the build you have due to its perfect, piercing mixed hit properties, even at low damage, it might finish off an Agi Up/Reflect Shield MVP.
  • -If you're going for dual dagger build, don't waste 3rd class skill points with rolling cutter and cross ripper slash.
  • -Dead people can't deal damage, remember to get at least some defense/leech/both to survive battles.

[10-] The Persistence - Difficult Situations

-What to do when the MVP pops agi up?

  • Go for some perfect hit skills and critical attacks. usually they do it when they are low on HP, so you can finish them off no problem with subpar damage if needed. If you have a verus core (niflheim), the 20% perfect hit chance ensures you can brute force the final phase of HP if needed.

-And what if the MVP pops reflect shield?

  • Use ranged skills like Soul Destroyer or Cross Ripper Slash, you can also hold your ground and dps slowly with leech gear/healing items. reflect is the bane of the guillotine cross overall, good thing on the class rework, Dark claw will remove reflect effects.

-How to handle hard hitting bosses?

  • There's no shame on using a shield sometimes, or changing to deviling, remember to be flexible on your gears, so you can adapt to diferent situations.

-How do I solo farm fortessa 2?

  • It's very difficult to solo there due to the many different enemy tipes, without gear swapping, critical builds usually cover every aspect with a mix of cursed water and aspersio scrolls.

-Is solo Pit doable?

  • Nowadays no, you may have some limited sucess with few enemies, but if you mob it, it's very overwhelming. You might kill an enemy here and there, but that's it.

-What's the best build for bloody branch farming?

  • Counter Slash for kill speed, Rolling Cutter for low cost. both with defense oriented items can ensure you survive multiple branches at a time (unless Ktullanux spawns, then its very sad).

-If I can invest in a MVP card, whats the best card?

  • Many people would say memory of thanatos or kiel, if you can afford then, and it's true, they are build changers and will easily boost your damage potential, but Randgris card ensures you can handle ANY situation with good preparation.
If you have an insane amount of money or luck, the Lord Knight card for the critical damage builds destroys any alternative, just remember not to use it all the time recklessly.

[11-] The Final Harmony - Counter Slash/Critical Dual Dagger mixed build

image.png.67180cbbadfc4aed02bf744c626832a1.png

Average Dummy DPS - Dark Claw/Venom Impress- No Pere/Jitterbug:
Counter Slash: 2.300.000
Critical Dual Dagger: 900.000

It's my personal build on Helheim, stills not finished due to the small amount of time I have available to work on it, but it can handle all kinds of stuff.

-It uses Counter Slash on most situations, can clear very well, leech, and tank most situations that are reasonable for a GX, the damage is amazing as well. The knockback can be annoying sometimes, but ensures i can survive difficult encounters as well by decreasing my received damage.
-Gear is focused on usability, with a Hunter Fly card for left hand, rideword hat for leeching, and defensive card for the garment. As well as HP absorb stone on garment costume slot.
-Previously I wore a full lava set, with very good results, although the damage was around 40% lower, the DEF of  over 900 was very good in making sure i could be kept alive without major trouble.
-The shadow gear is a Work in Progress, due to requiring 6 pieces of new sets to work as well as I expect it to.
-Stills missing some enchants and refines, overall the build is considered 80% finished. DPS was sacrificed for extra utility but i consider it worth it. Dummy damage dealers hate it, but thats how I usually do it.

Under specific situations, I use the Equip Swap button to fully change my build.

193 ASPD, 94 Crit Rate, with a very reasonable 40k per hit on this mixed build, the damage is very good to finish off bosses, clear weaker lonely mobs that can't proc weapon blocking for the counter slash build, as well as stills being fun and different to use.

-The Critical stills isn't perfect, but its due to a lack of Critical Stone(Lower) for my costume, when I get it, i'll be able to relax with over 100 crit.
-The damage isn't as high as a fully dedicated critical build, but it works well with the stats and mixed gear I can afford.
-It's a mixed build, so the stats cover both sides, and as such, doesn't excell in any of those

As For Niflheim, due to perfect hit gear from jRO as well as a Randgris card, I run a full Counter Slash build, with some defensive items for sustain:

Average Dummy DPS - Dark Claw/Venom Impress- No Pere/Jitterbug
Screenshot set: 11.000.000

One of the reasons I have an Enforcer Manteau is for support Soul Destroyer, since it can be used in some situations like picking off enemies. It's nowhere near its DPS potential though, but the biggest advantage is indeed the boosted resistances to magic and ranged, and the HP/ACD:
Average SD DPS: 700.000

[12-] The Future - Future Content and expectations on it.

New Patch gear will be reviewed and discussed here. And it's effects on the game and GX.

[NEW Gear has been added to their respective sections with the arrival of the 200/70 patch]

[NEW][12.1] - Guillotine Cross Rework

NOTE: This information is currently on sakray and might lack some details or specifics regarding some things and can be changed anytime.

Spoiler

Double Attack:
Changed from 5% per level to 7% per level, up to 70% from 50%.

Note: A much needed buff for the auto attack builds

Venom Knife:
Changed from 100% atk to 500% ranged damage attack.

That was VERY unexpected, stills mostly useless.

Soul Destroyer:
Damage is 140*Skill Level, Ranged Physical damage
Improves damage formula, slightly adds cooldown, Improves delay after skill and SP consumption .
(Lv1, 140%, Lv5, 700%, Lv10 1400%)
Damage is boosted affected by STR, INT, Base level. The skill can now crit.

Soul Destroyer now has a decent actual formula, and a very powerful one at that, might be too strong in niflheim, the critical boost is MASSIVE.

Cross Impact:
7 cell range, stills physical damage. Jumps to target when used. Damage boosted by base level, applies 1/2 the caster crit rate chance to the skill.
Animation was removed.
Lv1: 1200% atk
Lv2: 1300% atk
Lv3: 1450% atk
Lv4: 1600% atk
Lv5: 1750% atk

Very nice damage bonus, the crit bonus chance makes it VERY powerful for nuking.

New Poison Research:
Poisons last 45 seconds + 15 seconds per level of this skill

Supposedly the EDP duration was buffed, but this information is not on the new skill tooltip.

Poisoning Weapon:
Now increases attack power

Also grants a new buff based on the used poison:
Paralyze: Increased Movement Speed.
Pyrexia: Increases auto attack and critical damage.
Death Hurt: Recovers 1% Max HP per second.
Leech End: 100% stun and blind resistance.
Venom Bleed: Reduces received reflect damage by 30%.
Magic Mushroom: Delay After Skill -10%.
Toxin: Recovers 1% Maxp SP per second.
Oblivion Curse: 100% Silence and Curse resistance.

MASSIVE Change to poison use. Not only it raises attack power, but the use of Pyrexia with the new Double attack surely will boost the auto attack builds to higher levels. Magic mushroom makes 100% acd easier than ever to achieve. The others can be used in specific cases. I wonder if venom bleed stacks with the new Dark Claw effect?

Rolling Cutter:

Damage increase
Lv1 100% to 130%
Lv2 150% to 210%
Lv3 200% to 290%
Lv4 250% to 370%
Lv5 300% to 450%, AoE Increased  to 7x7 at Level 5.

Much needed bonus for the skill, and quite a big AoE to boot. must have for katar users.

Cross Ripper Slasher:

Damage was changed due to now being able to use the skill as long as you don't move anymore.
Damage is affected by Base level as well now (only was affected by agi before)
Lower after cast delay, Added a small cooldown.
Lv1 480% to  80%+Counter Amount%
Lv2 560% to 160%+Counter Amount%
Lv3 640% to 240%+Counter Amount%
Lv4 720% to 320%+Counter Amount%
Lv5 800% to 480%+Counter Amount%

The damage is probably quite a bit lower, but since i can be more spammed, it makes it much more usable.

Dark Claw:

Duration increased from 5 seconds to 10 seconds.
Removes (partial?) reflect effects from target for the duration

The duration is a very nice DPS boost, and the reflect removal can  be very good for solo content withouth a randgris card.

Any relevant questions people may have on builds I might add here to save on time and patience.

It's important to know im not a mr know it all, nor do I have the best GX, it's just a lot of knowledge and research being shared with all my server mates, and to help everyone stop thinking GX is dead.

What enchants for the vm daggers?

Best enchants you could get are +15% ATK / +20% ATK against Bosses / 20% After Cast Delay

Loved the guide. Disagree in some of the parts, would be nice to have like a final end game item build to resume each of the builds.

Thank you!
